CFD Engineer
The person appointed will provide simulation services to R&D and product groups including flare, thermal oxidiser systems, process, power and marine burners.  CFD simulations may include air flow modelling in ducting and windboxes, combustion modelling in fired heaters, furnaces, thermal oxidisers and boilers, flare or stack dispersion modelling.
 
Main Duties:
  • Providing CFD analyses of combustion systems, analysing and reporting simulation results.
  • Interpreting CFD results and delivering solutions to enhance equipment performance.
  • Developing advanced CFD modelling technologies.
  • Interacting with experimental researchers to design experiments for model validation.
  • Interacting with customers to analyse existing and new equipment.
  • Supporting sales and marketing efforts for Hamworthy Combustion and John Zink products.
  • Collaborating with technical and academic communities to identify emerging technologies.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physical Sciences or other Process Engineering.
  • Ideally PhD in Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering field.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, combustion science and CFD.
  • Experience in using CFD. 
  • Experience in fluids and combustion related fields.
  • Excellent written and oral English.
  • Good communication skills.
