Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Poole

A full-time maternity cover role has arisen for an Accounts Assistant within the Finance Department reporting to Paula Ellison. This is for a period of 12 months on a fixed term contract.

Brief Description of Main Duties:
•Responsible for ensuring aftermarket UK numbers are correct at each month end by analysing sales and costs in detail and completing the necessary journals
•Attending aftermarket monthly review meetings for current month and forecasting for the full year.
•Review and prepare Group aftermarket monthly reporting, variance analysis, KPI’s, within the deadlines.
•Accounting, book-keeping, P & L analysis.
•Annual budget preparation and reporting requirements.
•UK sales territory analysis.
•Prepare bound P & Ls / Balance sheets for each country in the Group, as part of Board Report pack.

Experience & Qualifications:
•Accounting book-keeping to Trial Balance stage and analysing P & L skills.
•High standard of Excel – this is essential as a large number of reports will be required to be produced each month.
•AAT / part qualified / relevant experience.
•Good communication skills.

Compliance Engineer

We have an additional vacancy for a Compliance Engineer in the Quality Department, reporting to the Quality Manager.

The main duties include the following:
•Ensuring all relevant product standards and codes are enforced across the business.
•Advising as necessary on pertinent and relevant changes to existing codes and standards.
•Assist Quality Manager to ensure all global product compliances are met and documented.
•Co-ordinate all third party audit schedules.
•Assist Quality Manager to compile monthly Quality statistics.
•Co-ordinate with HR for all training of employees.

The main qualifications and skills required:
•Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an apprenticeship with HNC.
•Previous Quality and Compliance experience especially in interpreting and communicating national engineering codes and standards.

We have a vacancy for a Contract Buyer in the Marine Offshore, and Packaged Products Department, reporting to the Projects Manager.

The main duties include the following:
•Negotiating and order placement on all contract specific purchases.
•Expediting the above.
•Resolve any invoice queries that might arise on orders.
•Negotiate prices with Sub-Contractors and with major items refer to Projects Manager for ultimate decision.

The main qualifications and skills required:
•HNC in Mechanical Engineering
•Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply preferred.
•Good commercial and financial knowledge.
•Previous procurement experience in respect of fabrications and proprietary equipment.
•Good experience or aptitude of using computerised administration systems.
•Self-motivated and able to work without direction.

The appointed person must be prepared to travel both in the UK and Overseas.

Development Engineer

Poole

Development Engineer
We have a vacancy for a Development Engineer to work in the Research & Development Department.

Brief Description of main duties:-
•Prototype design and manufacture – overseeing testing and development programmes.
•Production of data sheets, sales information, instruction manuals and design procedures.
•Problem solving and performance testing of installed equipment within the UK and overseas.

Experience and Qualifications required:-
•Knowledge of combustion, burners and associated equipment.
•Practical experience of firing burners and combustion equipment.
•Computer literate in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
•Experience in development of products, report writing and producing data sheets/manuals would be preferred.
•HNC/HND in marine/mechanical/chemical engineering would be ideal or good practical engineering background and knowledge of the combustion industry.

You will also need to be prepared to travel at short notice in the UK and overseas to assist customers and the Service Department and to carry out development projects on customer sites anywhere in the world.

A current driving licence and a full passport are essential requirements of this role.

Electrical Instrument Technician

Poole

We have a vacancy for an Electrical / Instrument Technician within our Test Rig Facility. The main duties of the role include:

• The design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of single, three phase electrical equipment and test safety systems.
• Maintenance of the departmental instrument inventory and calibration records in accordance with the Company’s Q504 Quality Policy.
• The installation and commissioning of gas sampling and data logging systems (mechanical and electrical aspects).
• Installing and maintaining pneumatically controlled equipment.
• Organising and/or carrying out major/minor repairs to instruments. Procure and purchase E&I items
• Install new build equipment updating and creating existing and new drawings.
• Technical support to both Test and Development Engineers when required.
• Ensure the integrity of electrical sites services are maintained to current industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified as a 16th and 17th Edition Electrician, the candidate will ideally have extensive experience in the field of installation and maintenance of electrical equipment as well as experience working with single and three phase equipment in an Industrial environment.

The workload is mainly in a process engineering type environment which requires the candidate to be able to work safely at heights, in confined spaces and in all weathers. A flexible, can-do attitude together with the ability to work within a small team and on their own initiative, with minimum supervision is an essential requirement for this role.

Service Engineer - Power Service Department

UK

We have a vacancy within the Power Service Department for a Service Engineer to install, commission, service, maintain, repair and upgrade Hamworthy Combustion products and their ancillary equipment.

Ideally qualified to HND or Degree level in a Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering discipline, the applicant should have knowledge of PLC control systems and Instrumentation.

Experience of working with boilers, fired heaters, air heaters, incineration plant and flares, together with knowledge of various burner types and their mode of operation is essential. A major part of the role will be installation and commissioning of new products, therefore onsite project management experience would be an advantage.

You will also need to be self-motivated with excellent customer service skills and possess the ability to work alone to a high standard. The role demands a flexible approach to working hours and long periods away from home (onshore and offshore).

A current driving licence and a full passport are essential requirements of this role.

Supply Chain Development Manager

The appointed person will report to the Group Operations Director.

The main duties include the following:
•To develop and implement plans suitable for a group-wide supply chain to meet the objectives of the business.
•Develop a global supply chain and supplier base identifying and approving suppliers, locally and internationally.
•Reduce the overall cost of supply; maintain quality and meet the required lead times for supply.

Principal Responsibilities:
•Monitor and analyse trends in procurement and liaise with the purchasing staff in the various business areas to prioritise items.
•Request prices from potential suppliers; find capable and suitable suppliers by inviting tenders; negotiate contracts for the supply of goods and services.
•Work with suppliers to improve quality, cost and delivery.
•Set up processes and the necessary documentation for the supply of products from overseas.
•Work with the sales and projects teams throughout the business to review standard cost manuals.
•Recruit, manage and develop the supply chain.

The main qualifications and skills required:
•HNC level or above in an engineering discipline.
•Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply – at Associate or above.
•Experience in applying the concepts of ‘Design for Manufacture’.
•Knowledge of the range of products in Hamworthy Combustion or similarly aligned industries.
•Knowledge of the requirements for import/export.
•Lead activities to improve the supply chain.
•Experienced in developing a supply chain.
•Experience of purchasing from lower-cost economies.
•Prepared to work overseas frequently and for extended periods when required.
•Read and interpret engineering drawings and documents.
•Audit and assess suppliers’ capabilities.
•Negotiate the terms and conditions of contracts for supply.

This is a key role within the Accounts Department as the Company has an increasing exposure to foreign currency due to the value of export business. The Company transacts and manages this exposure on a daily basis.

The main duties include the following:
•Treasury and cash management.
•Loans and Interest management.
•Group forecasting of cash.
•Foreign currency management.
•Group accounting.
•Ad hoc project work.

Ideally the applicant should be ACA/ACCA/CIMA or ACT qualified.
