Controls Engineer (Power & Marine) The person appointed will be responsible for the project engineering of burner /boiler control systems for the Power and Marine markets. Experience of the design of PLC based control systems with HMI and SCADA operator interfaces is required. Knowledge of burner management and boiler control systems would be an advantage. Liaison with clients and suppliers will also be necessary and there will also be a requirement to support commissioning activities.
Ideally, you should be qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent in Electrical/Controls engineering. Knowledge of the use of electrical equipment in hazardous areas and cabling installation would be beneficial as would design experience of motor starter control panels. There will be the occasional requirement to travel both in the UK and overseas for short periods.

The main duties of the role: The person appointed will be responsible for the management of multi-discipline engineering projects from order acknowledgement to project completion. Experience: Industry related experience with knowledge of application design for burners, fuel preparation and handling, pipework, ducting, fans and related control systems.
Qualifications: Preferably qualified to degree/HNC level in Mechanical Engineering.

We have an additional vacancy for a Site Service Engineer in the Marine Service Department to install, commission, service, maintain, repair, upgrade or replace Hamworthy Combustion products or any associated control equipment in the UK and overseas.
Ideally, you should be qualified to ONC/HNC standard in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and have knowledge of PLC control systems. Experience with combustion in boilers, fired heaters, air heaters and incineration and flares, together with knowledge of various burner types and their mode of operation is essential. Additional experience in control and instrumentation would be an advantage.
You must be self-motivated with excellent customer service skills and the ability to work alone to a high standard.
A current driving licence and a full passport are essential requirements of this role and you must be prepared to work overseas for extended periods onshore and offshore.
